  • 14 September 2019:  Malcolm Robinson Trophy
At the Closing Day Party, the President's team beat the Vice President's to win the Malcolm Robinson Trophy.

  • 11 August 2019:  County BC Retain the World Cup
County Bowling Club beat the Atherley Bowling Club to take the World Cup by 4 rinks to 2, with an overall score of 124 to 117.

Congratulations and "Thank You" to all those who played.
  • 13 July 2019:  Centenary Triples Competition
President Jenny presents the Centenary Triples Two-Woods Trophy to Mac, Alan and Carole, following a tough game with Alice, Steve C. and Malcolm W.  In fact, it was so close that they were on the verge of bowling a Super End. 

  • 22 June 2019:  Sidwell Pairs Competition
Congratulations to Jenny and Malcolm on winning this year's Sidwell Pairs Competition, and a special thank you to Steve Walters for organising an excellent day for everyone.

  • 20 May 2019: Two Recent Successes For County Bowling Club Ladies
County Ladies are celebrating two recent victories.  First, for the sixth time in a row, the Ladies picked up the Millenium Bowl with a win over Banister Park.  Next, the Ladies beat our own Gentlemen in the Arthur Poore Trophy.

  • 13 April 2019: County Bowling Club Opening Day 2019
On a beautiful Spring morning, President Jenny rolls the silver jack to get the new bowling season underway.  Proceeds from this year's Spider, will go VIBE, who represent Visually Impaired Bowlers in England.

  • 19 March 2019: County Bowling Club Tour To The West Country

  • The Club has just returned from yet another successful and most enjoyable bowls tour, this time to Devon.
    Below we have some of the elite players from the club - a very handsome lot indeed -
    about to partake in our first match at Exeter on route to our base at the Queens Hotel in beautiful Paignton.

    The opposition at Exeter really made us welcome....such nice people.  The picture shows lots of anticipation and smiley  faces before the match, although we're not so sure if, after the match, this continued as we lost every  rink. "Hey ho" still great fun.  Peggy was happy though,she played for the opposition.

    • 18 August 2018:  Morgan Trophy 2018
    Congratulations to Steve Cook, this year's winner of the Morgan Trophy, seen here with President Hugh and competition organiser James Lapage.

    The competition consists of each participant playing 3 triples games of 6 ends, including rotating between lead, number 2 and skip across the games.  This is a great format for newer members to appreciate the challenges of playing in different team positions.

  • 14 July 2018:  Centenary Triples 2018
  • President Hugh presents the Centenary Triples Trophy to this year's winners, Alice Green, Gill Singleton and John Russell.  They all look remarkably fresh after several hours in  sweltering 26° C temperatures!  Congratulations to everyone, and thanks also, to this year's organiser, President Hugh Coulter.

    • 10 July 2018:  Saints Foundation Team Try Out Bowling
    The Saints Foundation Team, who give County Bowling Club members a fitness class every Tuesday morning, thought that they would stay on at the club and try out bowling.  Obviously, they need a few minutes relaxation to build up the required energy for such a strenuous sport!.

    • 22 June 2018:  County BC Clubhouse Looking Great!
    With thanks to Robert and Annette for the splendid borders and pots and thanks also to Denis for the magificent baskets, the clubhouse was looking very attractive in this morning's sun.

    • 14 April 2018:  Opening Day at County Bowling Club
    The new season's activities started on a lovely sunny day - the hottest of the year so far - with blue skies and not a drop of rain in sight!

    • 19 December 2017:  Christmas Celebration at St. Mary's Stadium
    Along with other groups from across the City involved in the Saints Foundation's well-being initiatives, County Members were treated to a wonderful afternoon on Tuesday at St Mary's. 

    After a magnificent meal, Lawrie McMenemy hosted a quiz, ably supported by several other former Saints Heroes, Ian Turner, David Peach and Peter Rodrigues.

    Anna, Carole, Peggy, Martin, Elizabeth and Ray help to get the party started..

    PS: Don't forget that you'll be able to burn off a few of those Christmas calories when Saints BowlFit starts again at County BC on January 2nd. 

    Tuesday Morning BowlFit at County Bowling Club
    Come along at 10:00 on any Tuesday for a fitness class with the Saints Foundation.
    The work-outs are specially designed to improve co-ordination and balance, as well as exercising and stretching muscles and tendons.  There is no charge.
    As well as some light exercise, you'll have an enjoyable time with new friends.
    Sessions are held all year round, continuing throughout the winter.

    • 29 April 2017:  Arthur Poore Day Victory for the CBC Gentlemen
    Vice President, Hugh Coulter receives the Arthur Poore Trophy on behalf of the County BC Gentlemen from Chris O'Connell, Arthur's daughter.

    • 20 April 2017:  Saints BowlFit Comes to County Bowling Club
    Following on from the trial session at St Mary's Stadium last week, the first Saints BowlFit workout was held at the club on Tuesday. The routine, designed specifically for bowlers by Paul Hedges and Marion Gealer of the Saints Foundation, is part of their health and wellbeing initiative, and will be run every Tuesday morning.


    The 30+ attendees voted the fitness session a great success!

    • 20 June 2017:   Saints BowlFit Team Try  Out Bowling 

      As a change to the regular Tuesday morning BowlFit workout, our Saints Foundation colleagues joined us on the green to try their hand at bowling.  Malcolm gives Marion Gealer some expert coaching, while Aaran and Jack watch out for a few helpful tips.

      • 30 September 2016: Green Closure Work Completes
      The benches, patio furniture and ditch matting have all been cleaned and stored away, and the green has been scarified, aerated and dressed.

      • 11 September 2016: Southampton Amputees and Carers Group
      ACSIS, the Amputee and Carer Support in Southampton group, visited County Bowling Club for another fun morning of bowls. Once again it was a real pleasure to host them.

      Thank you to all the CBC Members who turned out to help. and a special thank you to Gwyneth for organising the event.

      • 24 June 2017:   County Bowling Teams Victorious at Twyford !
      Today's friendly match against Twyford BC resulted in wins for all three of our triples teams. Congratulations to Malcolm, Colin, Gwyneth, Cindy, Carole, Andrew, Chris, Moira, and John.

      • 17 June 2017:   Total Chaos at County BC with a Fun Crown Bowls Afternoon
      In scorching temperatures, County BC members enjoyed a great afternoon of fun crown bowling.  Luckily no ankles were broken and no members suffered during the games..

      President Malcolm pulls rank to get the first burger and sausage of the day from Michel le Barf, our resident 4-star chef-de-barbie. Many thanks also to our hardworking organiser, Alice.
