Coronavirus Announcement

Following recommendations from Bowls England and Bowls Hampshire, the Executive Committee has agreed to follow their advice and therefore the club will be closed until at least 1st July in order to safeguard everyone.

If we are able to open later this season, we will look at a revised, but limited, schedule of events and tournaments, including a proposal to extend the season by 2 weeks.  More details will be provided nearer the time.

The health and safety of our members and guests will remain paramount.

The full text of the letters from Bowls England and Bowls Hampshire, along with a fuller communication from President James, can be found on the

  • 19 March 2019: County Bowling Club Tour To The West Country

  • The Club has just returned from yet another successful and most enjoyable bowls tour, this time to Devon.  Below we have some of the elite players from the club - a very handsome lot indeed - about to partake in our first match at Exeter on route to our base at the Queens Hotel in beautiful Paignton.

The opposition at Exeter really made us welcome....such nice people.  The picture shows lots of anticipation and smiley  faces before the match, although we're not so sure if, after the match, this continued as we lost every  rink. "Hey ho" still great fun.  Peggy was happy though, she played for the opposition.
